Missions Report From Eden Baptist Church

The team from Eden Baptist Church had a wonderful missions trip to Nicaragua June 14-22, 2014, and was blessed once again by working with Oscar and Rosibel and their awesome team.  Pastor Damont enjoyed preaching at the Rose of Sharon Church on Sunday morning and again on Monday evening at the youth service. Connie Rivenbark and Kathie Drake shared their testimonies in the Sunday morning worship service and Pastor Blair shared a devotion on Monday evening.

The team went to the city dump in Chinandega on Monday morning where they toured the area and saw several of the homes that have been built through Oscar’s ministry.  Damont and Kathie were able to meet the two children we sponsor and that was such a huge blessing.  Kathie was able (through a translator) to talk at length with them and to begin a relationship.

We were happy to see the new tables with tile tops that had been added since our trip last year.  This made ministering there so much easier.  Also the pharmacy had been completed.  We shared bible stories, played games, and did several other activities with the children.

We met the young woman whose house we would be building with the funds Eden Baptist had provided.  Seeing her current living conditions and hearing her share about what this gift meant to her and her family was a huge blessing to the team.  The men began construction on her house and were able to work there four days.  A couple of the men also worked on another house at the dump.

While the men were at the dump, the women went to two feeding centers each day and prepared and served food, shared bible studies, and did other activities with the children.  The plan of salvation was shared in the villages, and we made almost 400 salvation necklaces as a reminder of how to be saved.   The children received a copy of what the beads on the necklaces stood for (in Spanish) to take home to their families.  Aneriam was our translator and he is an exceptional godly man.  Oscar has trained his staff extremely well, and we were especially impressed with how well Aneriam interacted with the children.  He truly has a love for God and for children.

We were able to visit the dream center and were amazed and blessed to see what all has been built since our last visit.  We had prayer walked the area (which was just grass) last year.   Now the first level of the center is almost completed! God has truly provided for this center through the generosity of donors and is fulfilling the vision He gave to Oscar.  We expect many amazing things to happen here in the future.  We were also able to clean the inside of the storage unit as a new shipment of rice was arriving the following day.

We visited the local hospital and were able to meet many children.   We had prayer with them and their families and distributed candy, toys, and clothes that our team had collected.

We went to a ballpark on Saturday and shared the gospel with many people in the bleachers.  Three young men and one older woman prayed to received Christ.  One of Oscar’s team members was so excited because these young men were neighbors of his and he planned to follow up with them.  An older man indicated he wanted to read the bible we gave him to learn more about accepting Christ because he thought it was a difficult process.  He thought only Jews were supposed to read the bible!  But, the gospel was shared with him and he said he felt like he would make that decision after reading the bible for himself.

We prayed with several others that indicated that they were believers but had some prayer requests.  Many bibles and tracts were distributed.  Damont shared a devotion between games and gave an invitation to accept Christ.   Several children and men indicated they made that decision.

After the trip to the ballpark, we were taken to a local beach and treated to a wonderful meal, which we all enjoyed.  We went to the market on the way back to shop and to have one last visit to the local ice cream shop!

We had devotions with our team in the evenings and had time to share about our daily activities. We were also blessed to hear Oscar’s testimony.  I am sure he gets tired of sharing it with each group, but he has an amazing testimony of God’s work in his life.  It touches the hearts of all who hear it and makes them feel as if they know him personally.

We are so impressed with all the men and women who serve on Oscar’s team.  They are so kind and friendly, and they work so hard.  They start early in the morning and finish late in the evening.  The men are very protective of us when we are out.  They all love the Lord and it shows in how they treat not only us, but also everyone in the villages.  And the food. . . we think we will lose weight when we go, but not the way these women cook.  The food is excellent and the freshly made juice each day is delicious.  These women work so hard and they are always either cooking or cleaning.  There is so much love in their smiles as they interact with us and they truly make us feel welcome.  The entire team has a deep love and respect for Oscar and Rosibel, which clearly shows through in their interactions with them.  And the feelings are mutual as we see how Oscar and Rosibel treat them with the same love and respect.

It is truly a blessing to be able to serve with On Eagle’s Wings Ministry.  Our church is already raising money to build another house at the dump next year.  The team members developed a spiritual bond with Oscar and Rosibel and his team, and look forward to returning to Nicaragua to serve the Lord with them.  As Pastor Charles stated, they are the “real deal”!

Prayers Answered in Nicaragua!!!

God is good! This building you see here is the pharmacy, a clinic, a recovery room and a lab.

The goal is to serve the community and evangelize everyone that comes to receive medical assistance as they will receive free health care, and also to assist our pastors that we are working with through our feeding programs and anyone in their congregation that needs health assistance.

The pharmacy is almost finish and ready to run as soon as we work out a few details such as put up windows, equipped the facilities with furniture and load up the pharmacy with meds.

We will need $ 600.00 dollars a month to run everything mentioned.

We need $200.00 to pay a local Christian Doctor a basic salary a month to see patients on the weekly basis and we need $400.00 to keep the pharmacy stocked with meds to keep it running.

We need you support and prayers. This is a dream come true! A year ago this pharmacy and clinic was only a dream, but  today the Lord has answered our prayers. Thank the Lord first to Him for His honor and glory. We also thank IIM for their support and being the instrument God has used to bless our ministry and thousands of children here in Nicaragua. Also to all those that have supported these projects by giving to this cause, may the Lord keep you and bless you all.

Urgent Need in Pakistan

I am asking if you or your church could help this young pastor to share the Gospel and meet humanitarian needs as well. Please send all money to IIM ASAP and 100% of all money will be sent to Pastor Imron for the Gospel Revival Program.

Thanks,

Bro Charles

Dear Brother Charles,
Peace Greetings to you!

How are you Brother?  Brother we are praying for you. I have special help request please consider on this. So if you can do any thing for this program please help us to promote the Gospel of Jesus in Pakistan.

Brother our Hananiah Ministry is going to organize a Gospel Revival Program in area name Sadhar bypass in Faisalabad. This is very backward rural area and people are uneducated and do not know about God and God’s word. So last weak me and my ministry visited that area and the people requested  to hear the word of God.

So I want to organize here a program for poor Children and Christian people. Who do not know about Jesus in this area, they have not electricity and do not a good place to live.

Brother in the Program I want to give to children’s clothes, toys, copies, pencils, Bibles and special food in this program. And Program will be in October 5. I will send pictures of that program.

I think this is a good opportunity to spread the word of God through this special program. I can achieve my main goal, which is this; the people Come to Jesus and hear the good news of our Lord Jesus. I shall do these things in this program.

1. Children’s will get gifts.
2. They will eat the food.
3. Peoples will hear word of God.
4. Win souls for Christ.

I ask that you keep remembering this Program in prayer. It will be blessing for the children and poor people of that area. (The total cost for this program is $625). Any amount that you can send will help these poor children and people  of that area.  If you send some gifts for children’s it will be good also.

The $625 includes the cost of Food, Generator for lights, Gifts, Tents, Books, Copies, Stationary, and Transportation.

I need prayers and financial assistance to arrange this Program including these gifts and over all arrangements. Thanks.

May you live long.
Thanks Blessings,

The sister is now married and the couple is taking care of the brothers and Yeni. This family is very active in church. The pastor recommended Yeni and her family because of their need and faithful work in the church. A Good Word From Haiti

Greetings from Haiti,

I am starting school in Haiti for the 14th time.  WOW!!!  How time flies when you're having fun!!!!!  I would not be here without the people back in the USA who pray for me and support the ministry.  Thank you for allowing me to be in Haiti!   May the Lord bless you as you have blessed me!!!!!

This has been clean up week.  The janitorial staff has been working hard cleaning ceiling fans, wiping fingerprints, etc. in an effort to have the classrooms spiffy clean when the teachers return next week.  Praise the LORD!!!!!!!!!!

We are truly blessed with a wonderful support staff.  Teachers are important, but you just try running a school without janitors!!!!!   These people are often ignored but are very important.  The janitors are also our baby feeders.  So, as a thank you, we took the janitors and cooks and orphanage staff out for pizza!  Praise the LORD!!!!!!!!!!

Another school year is starting.  We have done a major re-shuffling of teachers and schedules.  Many teachers in Haiti have not finished high school.  We have teachers who were "high school dropouts" when they started teaching.  They were very intelligent and willing to work hard, but lacked money for tuition.  We encouraged them to go back and finish high school and we paid the tuition.  I will always remember the sight of Jack dancing in the schoolyard when he passed Philo, the last Haitian exam!!!!  He suddenly saw himself as the capable, intelligent person he is!  Now, Jack is in 4th year of university.  Our high school dropout will be teaching in high school this year!  He is one of our best teachers!!!!! Praise the LORD!!!!!!!!!!

We have 1 teacher finishing high school and 5 teachers in Quisqueya University.  Tuition averages about $1250 per semester, 3 semesters per year.  By the end of August, I will need tuition money for these teachers.  Education changes lives!!  Our teachers will change the lives of students who will change the lives of their families and neighborhoods.  It will go on and on and on. This program works!!!!!   But I need help with the tuition!!!  Please pray that these teachers can continue going to the university.  Haiti needs good Christian teachers!

Please continue to pray for long term help here.  The ministry has grown - the staff needs to grow also.  Micah & Rachel & David have been doing a wonderful job, but we need more.  We need teachers and administrators and organizers and all sorts of people.  I know Papa is speaking to them!  Pray they have ears to hear and willing hearts.

Teachers arrive on Tuesday.  Please keep our new school year in prayer.  We are adding a classroom and putting another class in a storeroom because there just is not enough space.

Please continue to keep our legal issues in prayer.  We now have 2 Haitian attorneys working on our case to force the man who deceived us into returning the money he has for the land he tried to sell us but did not own.
In the meantime, we are still searching for the best place to house the orphanage.  That land is not available but I know Papa has a plan.  The Lord knew before the creation of the earth that this would happen.  Papa has it all under control.  Praise the LORD!!!!!!!!!!  Please pray the thief accepts Jesus and becomes our friend!

Here's a God story for today. David flew to Ft. Pierce, Florida from Haiti for medical treatment for a blood clot in his leg. He was going to rent a car to drive to Alabama. Laura and Leonard Bell told him Leonard would come get him because he shouldn't be driving. It occurred to him last night he did not have a drivers license with him so he would not have been able to rent a car. He got a ride with some folks (Mike & Bonnie) from south Florida to Jacksonville who were on the same flight. These folks only had cash, but you can't rent a car with cash. David had a credit card. The folks would have been stuck without David and David would have been stuck without them. God opened up the schedule so Leonard could come get him.  Another twist, Leonard randomly chose a hotel for everyone to meet at. He picked one directly across the street from Mike's sister's neighborhood, which is where Mike & Bonnie planned to spend the night!  There are no coincidences, but God's hand at work.  Praise the LORD!!!!!!!!!!

God bless you,

Update from Pakistan - Photos Included

Pastor Charles

We all are fine by the grace of God and serving to the Lord. We had wonderful & successful two meetings of Church leadership on 12 & 13 July in Burewala city south Punjab where 80 and in Mian Channu where 48 Pastors, Evangelists, social leaders came together. South Punjab is much unreached where there is small number of servants of God. God gave me vision for these regions to reach with gospel and to train & equip to believers for expending the kingdom of God. We prayed together and I delivered the sermon from Luke 4:17-19, and encouraged to all, I gave them challenge of evangelism & Church planting. The spirit of the Lord touched to all leaders they received so abundantly blessings & gave glory to God, filled with joy and took stand to reach out people with the gospel of Jesus Christ in their regions in unity. They said that they want such kind of amazing & souls saving campaigns & Conferences. They have promised us that all Churches will stand with us shoulder by shoulder. So together will reap the great harvest of souls and then new Churches will be plant and leaders shall be train and the kingdom of God shall be expend.
I and local team had full cooperative meeting with Member National Assembly of Pakistan (Chohdry Muhammad Naziar Ahmad) Burewala so thank God who touching leaders and preparing them for our favor & help so we could proclaim the Good News to unreached & lost people.

Papa now I request you please keep my wedding in your prayers that will be held in October last week. Thank you so much and God bless you richly

His Servant,

Imran Sadiq
